We would like to express our gratitude to you for your patience and understanding during this pandemic. We hope that you and your family are healthy and will stay safe. As of May 15th 2020 dental offices were allowed to re-open under the new guidelines from the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC) and WorkSafe BC as Dr. Bonnie Henry, our Provincial Health Officer, initiated Phase 2 of re-opening.

Since the ordered closure on March 17, we have been able to manage dental emergencies via phone consultation and Antibiotic prescription. Since May 15th, we have managed to implement new measures to comply with new protocols to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. These new protocols are in addition to many of protocols we have been utilizing as part of Universal Precautions Protocols. Being a new facility, Centuria Dental Clinic was designed utilizes the most recent sterilization equipment, HVAC system with multiple dedicated air exchange ducts with continuous running fan, minimalistic office design to ensure easy cleaning and disinfecting of the entire facility.

We decided to re-open Centuria Dental Clinic on June 8, 2020 (one day as week for the rest of the month and going to normal hours in July) with the following new measures and protocols in place:

  • A glass barrier at the reception to protect the staff and patients

  • Covid-19 posters at the entrance and reception and handwashing poster in the washroom

  • A daily pre-screening protocol for the staff and dentist TO ENSURE THEY ARE HEALTHY BEFORE SEEING A PATIENT. No staff member with any symptoms will be present at the facility

  • A wellness screening form (Covid-19 symptoms) for the patients. Patients presenting with any Covid-19 symptoms will be rescheduled to a future appointment.

  • A wellness screening over the phone and temperature measurement upon arrival

  • A Covid-19 consent form for the patients

  • Spaced out sitting at the reception to allow social distancing

  • Reception sitting surface disinfected frequently

  • Spaced out appointments to eliminate congestion in reception

  • Increased frequency of disinfecting surfaces in reception area as well as door handles

  • Ensured availability of hand sanitizes in common areas—patients are asked to sanitize their hands upon entering the clinic.

  • Operatory instruments and materials kept enclosed

  •  Face shields and level 3 masks for dentist and staff

  • Pre-treatment oral rinse

  • When possible, receipts will be emailed

Upon arrival, patients are encouraged to keep physical distancing when possible. Over the next few weeks, we will be reaching out to schedule your appointments.

Should there be any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Dr. Rahmani is always available to answer your specific questions regarding any these new measures.

We are looking forward to seeing you soon and get back to this new normal.

Thank you
